Our teachers are leaders in their field, holding Bachelor’s or advanced degrees, professional teaching certificates, and three or more years’ prior teaching experience in their subject of choice, preferably in an international school. Experience teaching an IB curriculum is highly desirable, however not essential. Above all, we seek colleagues who are effective and helpful, ready to commit fully to the expectations and values of Fairgreen International School. Life in the UAE is safe and provides a range of cultural and recreational experiences. Dubai is a modern metropolis providing excellent transport (Taxi, Metro and Tram), a range of shopping opportunities, and many ways to explore the city in both its modern and traditional aspects. Beaches are near and safe on both sides of the UAE, and the mountains also provide unusual excursion opportunities.
Dubai has quickly established itself as a destination as well as a hub of international travel. It has a proud history, from the early days of pearl diving and trade through to oil production and to a modern-day centre for finance, trade, tourism, media etc. There is always plenty to do, no matter what your interest including sport, music, theatre, cinema and socializing. There is a wide variety of excellent restaurants serving a diverse range of cuisines.Travel to and from Dubai is easy, with numerous airlines flying to all parts of the world. The opportunities for travel, exploration and adventure both within the Gulf and throughout the Middle East, Africa and the Far East are extensive. The sun shines throughout the year with virtually no rainfall.
Applicants will be required to have the following:
- A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized and reputable university (possession of a Master's degree or PhD would be an additional advantage).
- A Teaching Qualification (such as a PGCE from a University).
- At least 2 years of experience in a recognized and reputable school as a full-time teacher (not including supply, short-term or part-time teaching).
- PYP/MYP/IB experience is desirable but not essential as training will be given inhouse.
For those applying for posts in the Secondary School, experience in teaching GCSE/IGCSE/A Levels/IB Diploma would offer a distinct advantage.
Experience overseas and in an international school would also be an advantage but not essential.
We are committed to the safety of children in our care and therefore require staff to provide a DBS certificate or equivalent from the home country and, for those working overseas, a Police clearance from the current country of employment.
The remuneration package at Fairgreen International School for overseas hired teachers is comprehensive and attractive. It enables teachers to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle as well as offering ample opportunities to travel and save.
The package includes:
- Tax free salary paid in UAE dirhams (pegged to the US dollar).
- Two-year contract (renewable).
