Inclusion

At Fairgreen International School, we will provide a range of support services to guide our students through any challenges they may face, helping them achieve a happy and successful school experience, from an academic perspective as well as for mental and physical wellbeing.

Provision for Students of Determination.
At Fairgreen International School we provide a STANDARD SERVICE of one Head of Inclusion/Learning Support teacher, one Learning Support teacher and one Learning Support Assistant. We also have one Head of School Counseling. Additionally the school has processes in place to enable initial screening of needs, to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and to provide one-to-one or small group support. The services of these professionals is free of charge to our Fairgreen community.  

The school provides support Graduated Response Model. The Inclusion Team will work in collaboration with classroom and specialist teachers to provide          differentiated support for students. Scaffolds and accommodations are developed to offer students access to the curriculum appropriate for their learning needs. Targeted and intensive support is co-ordinated with all relevant parties and personalised to meet the needs of individual learners. 

Inclusion Education Improvement Plan
Through the school’s Inclusive Education Improvement Plan we have identified objectives for this academic year and a key focus will be in providing parents with workshop opportunities for parents better understand Students of Determination and  how they can support their child and the resources and support mechanisms available to them and their families.

English as an Additional Language (EAL) Support
At Fairgreen, we use a co-teaching inclusion model to meet the needs of EAL students in the classroom. EAL support is developed through the use of the WIDA instructional model. The WIDA program provides a program of rich standards, learning materials and assessments that teachers draw on and use. These include the ‘can do’ assessment statements that are used to measure students’ levels of language acquisition on admission to the school, as well as monitor their support throughout the program. The school has chosen to use the WIDA model as the WIDA vision matches the school’s vision of learning. WIDA’s core values are:
