College and Career Guidance
The Fairgreen college counselling team provides a range of services to ensure that our students take the next step in their education, and future careers, with confidence. The counselling team’s role includes:
- Assisting seniors through the college application process
- Conducting annual College Nights for students in Grades 10-12, where students and parents can learn about the university application process in detail
- Providing documentation for all students such as preparing transcripts and recommendation letters
- Running credit checks for potential graduates
- Coordinating all standardised testing
- Implementing a peer mentorship programme
- Motivating students through Counsellor’s Corner
- Assisting with SAT, TOEFL, ACT & IELTS applications
- Tracking student progress through daily and weekly trackers
- Providing individual and group counselling for students and staff
- Meeting parents on a regular basis and holding parent support and information sessions
- Organising college fairs and meeting with college/university representatives
- Providing a College Fair/Career Day for students
- Generating and administering Course Selection information
- Visiting colleges/universities to ensure positive relationships with admissions teams
