Week Without Walls November 2022 Programme
Grades 9 - 12 students were invited on an 8-day trip to the Borneo Impact Expedition from November 5th-12th, 2022. During the trip, students focused on service and sustainability while living and working alongside the rural community, engaging in projects aimed at forest restoration. Students also visited the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about animal conservation efforts.
EcoVenture International Trip to Oman
Grades 7 - 8 students are invited on a 5-day trip to Oman. During this trip, students will focus on team building, adventure, and conservation. Activities include hiking and swimming at Wadi Bani Khalid & Wadi Shab as well as kayaking, snorkeling, boating, and dolphin watching. Students will enjoy two nights of camping in the Sur Desert and on Fins Beach, and two nights in hotels near Sur and Marina Bandar Al Rowda. These locations provide students with the unique opportunity to learn about conservation in the desert and on the shore where thousands of turtles lay their eggs each year. Students will also learn about the unique Omani culture as they visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Al Alam Palace, and Mutra Souq.
Challenging Adventure Trip for Grade 6
Grade 6 students will go on a learning adventure to the Hajar Mountains in the natural landscape of Ras Al Khaimah. This three-day excursion is full of great experiences where students learn more about UAE culture, specifically the Al Habsi tribe, plant trees, participate in water clean-ups, and experience wilderness survival training, beginner rock climbing, kayaking, and mountain trekking. This trip is exclusively for Grade 6 and is an essential time for building relationships with their teachers and peers.
Al Boom Diving Scuba Certification
Grades 7-12 students who choose this activity will earn their beginner or advanced scuba diving PADI certification through experienced instructors at the Al Boom Diving Center. Daily instruction will take place at the Al Boom Diving center in Dubai. Open water dives and other water sports will be held at the Meridien in Fujairah.
Work Experience and Internships
Grade 10-12 students can also utilise this week to arrange an unpaid internship or work experience to develop skills and better understand career opportunities. Students who choose this option will work closely with the Careers Counselor and CAS advisor to prepare for and set up the work experience.
Week Without Walls in The Sustainable City
This activity is open to all students in Grades 6-12 and will be free of charge. Activities will take place on the Fairgreen Campus and throughout The Sustainable City and focus on service and sustainability.
All of our trips are well-chaperoned by Fairgreen staff. We work with only the most reputable and vetted companies to arrange trip accommodations and logistics. Each year we present the Week Without Walls trips to parents so that they can feel comfortable and excited about these experiences for their children. A Week Without Walls is not a week without school - attendance in activities linked to a Week Without Walls is mandatory for all students.
