Transitions and Moving on for Students - Online Support Group It is that time of the year when parents are making decisions about next moves, and in preparation for this, children and teens often need support to help them navigate the next major change that they have to prepare for. I will offer a moving on support group for any student that is struggling with the decision to move on to help them develop the coping skills needed and enable them to have the space for support from peers and myself in facing this adjustment. For younger children, early years to grade 2, CLICK HERE for a list of books can be of help.
You can let me know if you think your child will benefit from attending the online support group by emailing me via counselling@fairgreen.ae

G1 Students Build their own Birdhouses Our clever G1 students designed and built their own birdhouses for Ms Thomas' STEM class. There are some lucky birds enjoying their new homes! PreK Students Growing and Exploring! Ms. Tomlinson's PreK students have been very busy. They've been studying symmetry by making mirror images using items such as blocks. They did a fun experiment to see what would happen if they added water to colorful Skittles. They've also been practicing their scissor and fine motor skills, colouring pictures linked to stories they've been reading together and using their hands in different ways with playdough. So many exciting things happening with our littlest students! MYP Students Studying Biodiversity MYP students have been studying how to better maintain biodiversity in our environment. G8 student Sarah chose to study the Sustainable Development Goal #14, Life Below Water. Sarah noted in her assessment, "The UN SDG #14 aims to sustainably manage and protect marine and coastal ecosystems from pollution, as well as address the impacts of ocean acidification. Also, it helps maintain the underwater life, like keeping the water as less polluted as possible to help plants stay alive, and underwater species healthy." Along with her very detailed summary of how important it is to stop polluting our oceans and other bodies of water, Sarah demonstrated her point by cleaning her fish tank and sharing photos of this process.
