Dear Parents,
I hope you are all in good health.
The Dubai Health Authority has asked schools to share the DHA Process Map for Close Contacts of a Confirmed Covid-19 Case. Below is a summary of key information to note from this document. Please take note of processes to follow for household/non-school close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case:
- Stay at home and inform the school management.
- For symptomatic contacts, seek medical advice for further management including COVID-19 PCR test in approved lab. Please notify the school medical team about the result.
- If COVID-19 positive, students are allowed to return to school ONLY upon submission of a De-isolation Clearance Certificate from the treating healthcare facility.
- If negative, students are still restricted from school for 14 days from last contact with a positive case. They will be assessed by the school medical team for absence of symptoms before joining school.
- For asymptomatic contacts, monitor for any signs and symptoms and seek medical advice if symptoms. occur. Asymptomatic contacts are also restricted from school for 14 days from the last contact with the positive case. School medical team will assess the student before joining school.
- For close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case in school, the school management/clinic will prepare the close contact list in coordination with the DHA investigation team. Then, same recommendations for symptomatic and asymptomatic contacts will be followed from above.
Please take note that even if the close contacts have been tested negative for COVID-19, they are still required to finish the 14-day quarantine before they can return to school.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
Kind regards,
Jane Marced Porras
