IMPORTANT UPDATE: 2021-22 ACADEMIC YEAR Wednesday, 24 August
Dear Parents,
Please see below for some important reminders with regards to student orientation and the start of the 2021-22 academic year. In response to the KHDA guidance released this week, we have also included links to updates on our return to school policies and PCR testing mandates for students who have recently traveled. Also, please see information below on formal permission parents need to give for students in grades 3-5 who intend to depart campus alone after school.
We look forward to seeing you all soon and to a fantastic academic year ahead.
Kind regards,
Director
RETURN TO SCHOOL GUIDANCE - KHDA Please see the following newly released policies issued by the KHDA in regards to returning to school for this academic year. There are some significant changes over policies from last year so we advise all of our parents to please take the time to review this very important information from the KHDA.
REMINDER | STUDENT ORIENTATION All Families with students entering PreKG and KG1: Our Early Years Phase Leader Cheryl Wood has sent out a separate communication about the 'soft start' planned for PreKG and KG1 students. If you are yet to receive this please contact the school directly.
KG2 - Grade 11 RETURNING Student Orientation via Zoom For students returning to Fairgreen, a special returning student orientation will be held via Zoom on Thursday 26th August from 12 noon until 12.45pm. Students/families will receive the link to this Zoom meeting directly from their child's classroom teacher prior to this date. Please watch your email. This is a great opportunity for returning students to ask questions and receive information about their first day of school.
KG2 - Grade 11 NEW Student In-Person Orientation For students who will be new to Fairgreen this year, a special in-person new student orientation will take place on campus on Thursday 26th August from 2pm until 3pm. Please be on time as we need to end promptly at 3pm. Please take note of the following:
REMINDER | KHDA MANDATES FOR PCR TESTING Based on the latest KHDA guidance, a PCR test is only now required if you have traveled outside of Dubai in the previous 10 days before returning to school. This is applicable for both the new student orientation and the return to school next week. Please note, the completion of the DHA Travel and Health Declaration is compulsory for all families.
GATE PASS | FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 3-5 WHO WILL BE DEPARTING CAMPUS ALONE If you would like your child to depart campus alone to walk or cycle home from school without a parent or adult caregiver, please note that for children in grades 3-5, you must fill out the gate pass permission form which formally gives Fairgreen permission to release your child from school on their own. Students in younger grades must depart campus with a parent or their adult caregiver.
For students in grades 6 and above, you do NOT need to fill out this form. Those students are allowed to depart campus on their own without the gate pass. |
