The mission of Fairgreen Parent Hub is to provide parent-community support and space for engagement through events and sessions to foster and grow community's connection, happiness and well-being at Fairgreen.

What is the Role of the Parent Hub?

Supporting & organizing school social events in order to bring the community together
Encouraging parent volunteerism and engagement
Welcoming and supporting our new families and students
Raising funds to support school events
Promoting engagement between the wider surrounding community and the school
Striving to be positive school ambassadors

MEET THE PARENT HUB TEAM

Anushay Mahmud Usman - Chairperson

Anushay is from Pakistan and has been living in the UAE for the last 18 years with her husband, Usman who is Syrian/Pakistani. Their three children Haadiya, Hamza and Haroon joined Fairgreen in 2020 and Anushay joined the Parent Hub in early 2021. She has been actively involved in trying to increase parent engagement at Fairgreen since then.

Inspired by her children’s educational experience, Anushay enrolled in a part-time Masters in Education with a concentration in Education Leadership from the University of Exeter in the UK. She is currently working on her dissertation and is particularly interested in the impact of improved well-being on students.

In her free time, Anushay enjoys traveling with her family. She also organises annual experiential learning camps for teenagers in Pakistan during winter breaks.

Jenny Atkinson - Vice Chairperson

Jenny moved to Dubai from Chicago in 2010 to head up the Operations for the Pottery Barn brands in the Southern Gulf. She met her husband Mark here, and had their son Myles in 2016.

After a few brief stints in Thailand and the UK, her family moved back to Dubai in 2018 and have happily settled back in the beautiful desert. Jenny loves life in Dubai, for its climate, outdoor activities and bustling expat life. She particularly enjoys speed walking around the Sustainable City in the mornings.

Jenny joined the Parent Hub in September 2021, as a way to connect with other parents, kids and staff, and learn more about life within the Fairgreen community. She really enjoys planning events, establishing structure and hopes that the Parent Hub will serve to foster a sense of community and FIS school spirit as it grows.

Katja dos Reis - Vice Chairperson

Katja is from Germany and has been living with her husband, Daniel, in Dubai for nine years. Their son Jasper joined Fairgreen in 2019 and is now in Grade 3.

Before moving to Dubai, Katja was a training and event manager. Since joining the Parent Hub in early 2021, she enjoys planning and organising events to bring the Fairgreen community together. It’s important for Katja to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, cultural diversity is embraced and everyone is able to contribute in their own way.

In her free time, she loves being outdoors, spending time on the beach, or exploring the UAE's beautiful nature while hiking in the mountains or camping in the desert.

Kirsty Mundigian - Sustainability Lead

Alpa Shukla - Treasurer

Alpa Shukla is one of the founding parents of Fairgreen; her daughter has been in the school since Fairgreen first opened its doors. She has a post grade degree in Food & Nutrition. Alpa worked as a dietitian and a lecturer in India giving her a lot of experience in dealing with people. She is currently a homemaker in the UAE with her husband
Shailendra who is a Geologist.

Alpa has two daughters. One is doing her Masters in History and the other one is in Grade 12 at Fairgreen.
In her free time Alpa enjoys traveling, hiking, and reading.

Barbara Van Meir - Parent Relations

Barbara has lived in the UAE for the past 19 years, and is originally from Belgium. She is married to Paolo, who is Italian, and their son Joah was born here in Dubai.

Hailing from a family of educators, Barbara takes a keen interest in all matters school related. She is also hopeful that teaching new generations about sustainability will make a difference, so it was only natural that Joah joined Fairgreen in 2020. Barbara became a member of the Parent Hub in early 2021.

Barbara and her family enjoy roaming the outdoors of the Emirates during the winter months discovering the plants and animals that make these mountains and deserts their home, and traveling to learn about all the world holds whenever possible.

Barbara holds a degree in Art History and Archeology and later specialized in Nautical Archeology.

Randa Khazem - Parent Relations

Randa has been in Dubai for 9 years. In addition to the 6 years experience in GUS/BPA School planning events with Parents Associations, she was also a Parent Representative Coordinator.

Her family joined Fairgreen in September 2020 and have enjoyed their time in this school.

She has a passion for arts and crafts. Her main unwinding activity is painting on porcelain, but on the side she likes to help parents get together during the school year for events such as coffee mornings and other parent networking events. She is looking forward to meeting new parents and creating a tighter community.

Olla Shahin - Marketing Lead

Tina Mohan - Event Creative Lead

Tina moved to Dubai in 2019 along with her husband and two kids. She has two girls studying in Fairgreen International School in Grades 11 and 6. She is a homemaker.

She did her graduation in Arts from Delhi University. Tina holds a diploma in computers. She also did interior designing as a hobby.

Tina loves to volunteer and work with kids. She used to volunteer in her kids' school as a teacher's assistant in the USA.
She is currently a part of the TTM program which teaches Indian students from humble backgrounds to converse fluently in english.

Tina loves to do puzzles in her free time. She enjoys hiking, long walks and socializing with her friends. She also loves animals and has a dog and a cat as pets.

Dalia Badawiyeh - Support Member

Dalia Badawiyeh is an entrepreneur, graphic designer and marketer.
She is the founder of November Events, a company that specializes in conceptualizing, designing and executing events of all kinds. She has worked in digital media and events with Yahoo, Twitter and Shazam, for 10 years prior to starting her own business.
Being a Palestinian American born and raised in the UAE played a big role in shaping her attachment to everything that is related to cultures, she is a big fan of learning about the roots, traditions and habits of different countries and cultures, She loves trying their food, learning their dances, art, language etc.
Dalia is a mother of 3 kids, who look nothing like her, but definitely share her interests and love for being around people, making new friends, art in all its shapes and forms, as well as traveling.

Ahlya Zahnoun - Support Member

Ahlya was born in Belgium and has lived in Dubai for 13 years.

Aa a teenager, the hardware store was her best friend. Soon the basement was overloaded with basic building equipment to satisfy her creativity.

She volunteered in different public events such as the neighborhood park that needed some help to be remodeled or to create drawings that went on the public concrete wall.

As she developed a love for the “letter” in general. Her passion to create culminated in finally selling her own work.

Without any background in art, she decided to continue in a creative direction and graduated with a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture.

She worked in a socially engaged company sponsored by the Belgian government. Here she gave adapted trainings to construction workers to receive their basic certificate in health and safety guidelines. The trainings were very challenging, so Ahlya was proud to help them pass their exams.

And that’s why she is here to create that special bond through investing her time and efforts and volunteer in anyway possible for the children, parents and teachers.

She is happy to be part of such a devoted group who are passionate about what they do.

Olha Skoreyko - Support Member

Olha is new to Dubai. She moved here from Canada just over a year ago with her husband and two children, aged 10 and 5. The wholesome Fairgreen community is what inspired her to join Parent Hub. Having management experience for over 10 years, she truly believes in team work and has a passion for what we do.

Olha enjoys helping with various projects, she is crafty and has a positive attitude. In her spare time she loves reading, golfing and hiking.
