Student Technology Requirements

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Requirements & Ordering Information for 2025-26
As part of our BYOD programme at Fairgreen, we would like to share important information for families who will be purchasing a new device for their child for the upcoming academic year.
Device Requirements
To ensure consistency and compatibility with our digital learning systems, we require all student devices to meet the following specifications:
Grades 2-5
Students in these grades will need one of the following iPad models:
- iPad 11-inch: A16 Chip (WiFi, minimum 256GB) or
- iPad Pro M4 Chip (WiFi, minimum 256GB, 11 inches) or
- iPad Air M3 Chip (WiFi, minimum 256GB, 11 inches)

Grades 6-8
Students in these grades may choose either an iPad (as above) or a MacBook (see below).
Grades 9-12
All students in these grades are required to have a:
- MacBook Air 13-inch
- M4 chip, 256GB storage, 16GB memory
Purchasing Through JTRS - Our Recommended Vendor
This year, we continue to partner with JTRS, who offer exclusive discounts to Fairgreen families. Please find their Fairgreen Store here. Devices purchased through JTRS will be delivered directly to the school, where we will install our Mobile Device Management (MDM) system before handing them over to you.
If you wish to purchase your child’s device through JTRS, please see steps below:
- Order window: June 11 - July 21
- Device will be ready for collection from the school’s IT office: On or before August 22, or, if preferred, can be delivered directly to your child’s classroom on August 25 (first day of school).
- Our IT staff return to work on August 4 and will begin processing the devices from this date.
- Once your device has been delivered to school from JTRS we will notify you (please expect this communication to arrive from August 5 onwards, but not before). We will again notify you when the MDM installation is complete and the device is ready.
If You Are Purchasing Your Own Device
Families who prefer to purchase their own device elsewhere should still ensure it meets the required specifications above. We strongly encourage you to bring the device to school as early as possible from August 5th so our IT department can install the MDM and have it ready for the start of the school year.
While the installation typically takes just a day or two, the process may be slower closer to the first day of school due to higher volume. To ensure a smooth start to the year, early drop-off of your child’s device for MDM installation is highly recommended.
